Tolga Osman FalayWeb & mobile developer · Nicosia, Cyprus

I'm a final-year software engineering student in Nicosia. Most of what I do is client work: websites and mobile apps, taken from the first conversation to the live URL.

I'm a final-year software engineering student at Eastern Mediterranean University, born and based in Nicosia. I believe technology is more than just working code; the experience, design, and performance it delivers to the user are just as important as the underlying architecture.

My approach to software revolves around a simple question: 'how can I make this better, faster, and cleaner?' I enjoy crafting aesthetic, fluid interfaces on the front-end just as much as designing robust, scalable systems on the back-end. My goal isn't just to write code, but to engineer products that truly connect with people.

Constantly learning, keeping up with modern technologies, and solving complex problems in the most elegant way is what drives me. When I'm not in front of a screen, I'm usually chasing new hobbies, exploring design inspirations, or simply looking for the next challenge to tackle.

Habits+

in progress
Habits+ — screenshot 1
1 / 7

Habits+ is a mobile habit-tracking app built with Flutter, designed to turn daily routines into lasting behaviours. The home screen greets the user by name, shows a real-time completion ring, and lists today's habits with one-tap check-off. Habits are colour-coded by category — nutrition, hydration, fitness, productivity, learning — and each one tracks its own streak. A calendar-based History view logs completion rates day by day, while the Insights screen renders a GitHub-style activity heatmap per habit. Side Quests adds a gamified twist: three randomly generated challenges each day, rated Easy / Medium / Hard, with a countdown timer and a searchable archive of past quest sets.

Key features

  • Real-time completion ring and percentage counter on the home screen
  • Per-habit streak counter with flame indicator
  • Five habit categories with distinct colour coding (nutrition, hydration, fitness, productivity, learning)
  • Calendar history view with daily completion rates and per-habit log
  • GitHub-style activity heatmap per habit in the Insights screen
  • Side Quests: daily Easy / Medium / Hard challenges with countdown timer and past-quest archive
  • New habit creation with category picker, repeat-day selector, and notification/alarm reminder

The design leans into a tactile, analog feeling — manila folder tabs for navigation and polaroid-style photo frames — while staying fast and fully responsive. Hand-built from scratch with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with no framework overhead, the site loads instantly and works flawlessly down to small mobile screens.

Key features

  • Custom folder-tab navigation that mimics a physical document organizer
  • Polaroid-style image grid with subtle tilt and hover interactions
  • Fully responsive layout, optimized from desktop down to mobile
  • Zero-dependency vanilla build for instant load times
  • Deployed on a custom domain (alarasysn.com)

Backend is a Laravel API, frontend is Next.js with shadcn/ui — the same split as the Staff Leave Tracker.

Key features

  • Multi-warehouse stock tracking with inter-warehouse transfer history
  • Purchase order workflow with Draft / Ordered / Received / Cancelled status tracking
  • Critical stock alerts when a product falls below its minimum threshold
  • Admin dashboard with product, warehouse, and daily movement metrics

Process

How a project goes

Four steps, first message to launch day.

  1. step 01

    Talk it through

Tell me what you need, in plain language. We scope it together.

  2. step 02

    Design & scope

I turn the conversation into a clear plan, timeline, and price.

  3. step 03

    Build & iterate

You see progress early and often — feedback shapes every step.

  4. step 04

    Ship & support

Launch day, then real support after — not radio silence.
